Guma Pty Ltd (Guma) is a mining services company established in late 2012. The
company remains 100% Indigenous owned and operated, and still led by Nyiyaparli
Traditional Owner Raymond Drage. Guma continues to significantly support Northwest
Indigenous communities.

Guma is Supply Nation certified, confirming that it is at least 51% owned, managed, and
controlled by Indigenous Australians. This certification specifically recognises Raymond Drage and Mathew Cook as the sole Indigenous owners and managers, emphasising their exclusive roles within the company.

We provide experienced site construction teams who can perform a wide range of civil earthworks and mining services. Our teams are responsive and flexible, and are supported by the project management and engineering experience, knowledge and workforce.

History, Corporate Profile Responsibility and Authority Guma is a multi-disciplinary mining and construction services company which through its close ties to Aboriginal communities can assist corporations to deliver strategic mining and construction projects. Our management team and onsite construction teams have extensive practical, hands on experience in all forms of construction and materials handling.


Guma offers experienced site construction teams who can perform civil, mining, roadwork, earthwork, structural, mechanical, plant shutdowns for refurbishment and planned maintenance functions.

Quality, Safety & Environmental Management Profile
The Guma Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems are aligned to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008 (Quality), ISO 45001:2018 (Safety) and ISO 14001:2004 (Environment).
Guma is currently in the process on renewing its ISO accreditations.

For each of the key areas of Quality, Safety, and Environment, Guma has in place a corporate management plan which defines Guma’s commitments and responsibilities for HSEQ in more detail. It incorporates legal and other compliance requirements and best practice techniques (where practicable) into procedures for managing HSEQ aspects.
These HSEQ management plans together with supporting procedures, provide a reference document for Guma employees to assist in delivering our HSEQ objectives and our clients HSEQ objectives. These documents are available at any time for our employees to review, copies are printed and kept in folders in the office.
Guma Management will ensure the availability of resources essential to establish, implement, maintain and improve these management systems. Reviews of these management systems will occur at planned intervals, to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness.

Current WHSE Performance
Guma is operating at Roy Hill undertaking a rehabilitation program that has a three panel roster incorporating up to twelve people on site at any one time. The WHS performance of the project thus far is as follows:

Training and Development Objectives
Guma has an extensive network of trades and labour that are utilised when projects are commissioned. The Company is committed to ensuring that training needs are identified; and that all trades and labour are provided with training, development and ongoing support relevant to the specific nature of the project to be undertaken.

Guma has a trainer and assessor that visits the sites on a regular (bimonthly) program to ensure the personnel onsite are competent in the activities they are undertaking. The trainer and assessor is also used to VOC new starters and to train others in new machines (which provides the team versatility).
